Introduction
As decided at the MAP Workshop 1994 in Zürich, a list with literature related to mountain meteorology was compiled. The basis for this list was the ALPEX literature list, originally published in the ALPEX Regional Bulletin No. 13. To this, all the references listed in the successive issues of the ALPEX Regional Bulletin were added, as well as titles furnished by attendees at the MAP workshop. In addition, the PYREX publication list was incorporated.
An attempt was made to produce separate lists of reviewed publications and books on one hand, and reports, proceedings, theses etc. (so-called "gray" literature) on the other.
Some references originating from the original ALPEX list are still incomplete because volume and/or page numbers were not reported. Missing data is indicated by "$$". Also, it is certain that there are still typing and other errors in the list. We urge you to check all your own references as well as those of your group or institute! Send corrections, additions, new references etc. directly to Hans Richner.
Thank you for your help!
The original version of the ALPEX literature list was compiled by Prof. Hantel and his co-workers which is thankfully acknowledged! The present version includes many updates which were received after the printed version was sent out. However, there are still much too many "$$", indicating missing data!
We would like to thank all those who contributed to this list and helped to update it. In particular, we would like to mention substantial contributions from Manfred Bauer at the University of Innsbruck and Thomas Haiden at Zentralanstalt für Meteorologie und Geodynamik, Vienna.
The updating of the ASCII text version on the map server "ftp.sma.ch" has been discontinued. We believe that just about everybody has the possibility to access this www-page. However, should anybody need an ASCII version which he cannot generate herself or himself from the html format, please contact Hans Richner.
