At the MAP Workshop 1994 in Zurich, it was decided to compile a list with literature related to mountain meteorology. The first version of this list is now available as a special issue of the MAP Newsletter.
The basis for the list was the ALPEX literature list, originally published in the ALPEX Regional Bulletin No. 13. To this, all the references listed in the successive issues of the ALPEX Regional Bulletin were added, as well as titles furnished by attendees at the MAP workshop. In addition, the PYREX publication list was incorporated.
An attempt was made to produce separate lists of reviewed publications and books on one hand, and reports, proceedings, theses etc. (so-called "gray" literature) on the other.

Those who subscribed to the MAP Newsletter will automatically receive an issue of the Literature List. Additional copies can be ordered from the MAP Office. Input for updated versions of the list should be directed to "hans.richner@env.ethz.ch" (see also foreword to the list).
