Description of WG Data Interface (WG-DI)
WG-DI deals with data handling of atmospheric and hydrologic model output as
well as observational data (both meteo and hydro). Anybody is welcome to
participate in this essential WG.
The main tasks of WG-DI are:
definition of common format of atmospheric model output (input for
hydrologic models and verification);
definition of common format of hydrologic model output (input for verification);
definition of common format of observational data (input for verification);
definition of data flow for atmospheric and hydrologic model output as well
as observational data (possibly near real-time), including timing (i.e., 'when
what data needs to be where') and technical requirements;
definition (with WG-HEU and WG-VER, respectively) of parameter list
necessary both to drive the hydrologic models and to conduct verification;
deliver atmospheric model forecasts for selected target areas to drive hydrologic models;
establish and keep contact to COPS data base at DKRZ.
