Description of WG Hydrology and End Users (WG-HEU)
WG-HEU deals with the production of added value products of hydrological
relevance, as the runoff volumes and peaks in selected hydrological basins
using the meteorological output data produced in MAP D-PHASE. Hydrologists
and representatives of Civil Protection Services, Water Authorities responsible
for water management, etc. are welcome to contribute to the activities
of this WG.
The main tasks of WG-HEU are: definition of common needs of hydrological
modellers / end users with respect to atmospheric model output (e.g., parameters,
thresholds, etc);
definition of the hydrological basins and the control sections where
average precipitation, runoff volumes and peaks will be computed for verification;
definition of parameter list necessary both to drive the hydrologic
models and to conduct verification;
definition (with WG-DI) of common format of atmospheric model output
to drive the hydrologic models;
definition (with WG-DI) of common format of hydrologic model output
to be used for verification (WG-VER);
establish a network of 'hydrologist / end user pairs', building
on already existing relationships and new contacts.
